1962: When it all started.

The name Havaianas was borrowed from Hawaii. The first pair of Havaianas was born in 1962, inspired by the traditional Japanese flip-flops called Zori, whose soles are made of rice straw.

The rice grain inspired the texture of the rubber sole, one of the many details that make Havaianas an unmistakable brand.
